Job summary

MALLOW COMMUNITY CHILDCARE, Ballyellis, Mallow, Co. Cork, is offering a Childcare Assistant position under the CE Scheme. Accredited training will be provided to support your career development, with no prior experience required.

This developmental opportunity requires teamwork, a commitment to safety, and active participation in delivering the curriculum in line with Aistear & Siolta standards. Garda Vetting and character references will be requested as part of eligibility.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to participate on CE is linked to age and welfare payments and varies by group.

Responsibilities

• Day to day responsibility of the children in the service in conjunction with the team.
• Ensure child safety at all times, in conjunction with the team.
• Liaise with the Room Leader and childcare team around work to be completed.
• Communicate effectively - written & oral.
• Work as part of a team.
• Work with the other staff to ensure curriculum is carried out daily.
• Give input to the curriculum e.g. ideas for activities.
• Promote all areas of child development: physical, intellectual, linguistic, emotional & social.
• Carry out all work under Aistear & Siolta standards.
• Follow the policies & procedures of the service at all times.
• Applicants must supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda Vetting application form
