Childcare Assistant - CE Scheme (Community Childcare Craoíbhan, An Tearmann)

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

To register your interest you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

  • Assisting the Playgroup/Creche Childcare Leader in maintaining a safe, healthy and happy environment for children to grow and learn in
  • Assist with the child's development skills, play music, develop and create crafts
  • Be a good communicator and be able to work as part of a team
  • You should be able to help develop the project and have good interpersonal skills
  • The position will be in the above area
  • Full training in QQI Advanced Certificate in Early Learning and Care Level 5 and 6 will be provided
  • Applicant must have a good command of the English language
  • Applicants must supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting form
