Childcare Assistant (CE Scheme- Banteer Community Childcare)

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

To register your interest you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Responsibilities
  • Day to day responsibility of the children in the service in conjunction with the team; ensure child safety at all times, in conjunction with the team.
  • Liaise with the Room Leader and childcare team around work to be completed;
  • Communicate effectively – written and oral;
  • Work as part of a team;
  • Work with the other staff to ensure curriculum is carried out daily;
  • Give input to the curriculum (e.g., ideas for activities);
  • Promote all areas of child development: physical, intellectual, linguistic, emotional & social;
  • Carry out all work under Aistear and Siolta standards;
  • Follow the policies and procedures of the service at all times.
