Job summary

Centra Claremorris is seeking a Checkout Operator to ensure the checkout area operates efficiently and to deliver excellent customer service. You will operate a computerised till, weigh and price produce, check age restrictions, and process payments.

The ideal candidate will have around two years in retail, strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team. This full-time on-site role is based at Hegarty's Centra Claremorris.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in a retail role.
• Ability to balance tills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs.
• Strong attention to detail, organized and flexible.
• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Actively live Centra brand-values i.e. Proud, Energetic, Imaginative and Community-Based.
• Use a computerised till system that has a barcode scanner.
• Weigh and price products such as fruit and vegetables.
• Check customers' ages for restrictions on items such as alcohol.
• Pack customers' purchases.
• Process coupons and vouchers.
• Take payments and make sure the till balances at the end of the day.
• Spend time away from the till, stocking shelves and checking stock.
• Merchandise and present the department to the highest standard at all times.
• Attend and engage in team meetings and implement any learnings.
