Job summary

A community development organization in Cork is seeking a CE Childcare Assistant to support the wellbeing and educational needs of children. The role includes providing a secure environment, reporting to team leaders, and effective communication with parents and staff. No prior experience is needed as accredited training will be provided.

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Job Description
Duties

This is a developmental opportunity; no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. All participants within the centre must be willing to work within the aims, values and principles of the Farranree Preschool. The participant will provide for the wellbeing and educational needs of the children and provide a secure and clean environment. The participant must be a good time keeper; they need to report to the manager/team leaders about any incidents/concerns; require good communication skills when dealing with parents/children and staff; will be child-centred in their approach and adhere to the code of behaviour and treat all with dignity and respect. Suitable validated references and completed Garda Vetting and international police clearance (where necessary) apply prior to starting.
