The Royal Hospital Donnybrook is a 178 bedded hospital that provides Post-Acute, Stroke Rehabilitation, Neurorehabilitation and General Rehabilitation services, Day Hospital services, Respite and Residential Care services to adults.
The Post Holder will work throughout the campus of the Royal Hospital Donnybrook. The purpose of the post is to assist with the preparation and service of meals and beverages in the hospital at the required time in accordance with the hospital, food safety, hygiene and statutory standards. To ensure that the areas related to the catering department (Ward pantry, dining rooms etc.) are kept thoroughly clean at all times. Household staff are required to work throughout the hospital and on various wards as per the service need.
Has a command over the technical/ professional skills and knowledge required within the job holder’s role and continues to upskill to maintain high professional standards and continuous professional development requirements.
Speaks and writes clearly, fluently and effectively to both individuals and groups; communicates in a manner that will persuade, convince and influence others, in order to, inspire or encourage them to follow a particular course of action.
Demonstrates eagerness to understand patient needs. Views the patient to the delivery of every day service through consistent understanding, tolerance, care, support and empathy while promoting empowerment, independence and choice.
Is thorough and precise when accomplishing a task showing concern for all aspects of the job; developing detailed plans; accurately checking processes and tasks.
Has the ability and desire to work cooperatively with others; collaborating to get the job done. Provides support to colleagues to help develop a strong and cohesive team ethos. Willing to participate as a member of the team.

Working Hours each week over 7 days, worked as agreed with the Catering Manager The flexibility of working patterns is required in line with service requirements or developments.
The salary for the post is in line with the Department of Health Consolidated Scales 4110 - Domestics
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be free from any defect or disease which would render him/her unsuitable to hold the office and be in a state of health as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to attend regular and efficient service.
