Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Category Manager, CCFS Procurement, EMEA MRO, to lead regional strategy and supplier management for MRO across EMEA with APAC support. The role focuses on driving value, negotiating agreements, and aligning with Engineering & Property Services to ensure project readiness.

The position requires a BA/BS, 6+ years in procurement, and experience with RFx and large project procurement. English fluency and travel up to 10% are implied.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a BA/BS degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of procurement experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Procurement policies, operations, processes, operating model, and value proposition.
  • Broad understanding of business operations and core Procurement focus areas, including spend, category, and supplier management.
  • Experience managing RFx and sourcing activities for large construction project bid packages, including bid preparation, bidder engagement, analysis, recommendations, and use of sourcing technology platforms.
  • Financial acumen and a strong track record of compliance with financial requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing, trust-building, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prioritize requests and develop effective solutions or alternatives in collaboration with others.

Position Overview

The Category Manager, CCFS Procurement, EMEA MRO will serve as the Regional Category Lead for EMEA, with additional support for select APAC MRO needs. This role will lead strategic procurement initiatives, partner closely with Engineering & Property Services and other cross-functional teams, and support the successful delivery of high-value capital projects through effective supplier management, negotiation, and execution excellence. The role will directly influence supplier performance, cost competitiveness, operational reliability, and project readiness across critical manufacturing and capital project environments.

Key responsibilities:
Category Strategy and Business Engagement
  • Serve as Regional Category Lead for MRO in EMEA, with support for select APAC manufacturing sites.
  • Lead and implement strategies aligned to the Capital Construction & Facility Services strategy, partnering with Engineering & Property Services, Supply Chain, Finance, and Procurement stakeholders.
  • Identify business demand and planning requirements, partnering with Supply Chain, Engineering & Property Services, and Procurement leaders to deliver annual value improvements and competitive advantage.
  • Connect across CCFS categories, including Capital Equipment, Construction and Project Management, Facility Maintenance, Real Estate, and Energy, as well as other Indirect Procurement categories, to support project needs.
  • Represent Procurement in key forums, ensuring accurate, timely communication of data, insights, and relevant updates; support transition from construction to operational readiness.
Sourcing, Market Intelligence and Supplier Strategy
  • Own category and sourcing procurement processes for MRO, supporting strategic projects primarily across EMEA, with additional APAC support as needed.
  • Contribute to sourcing strategy development and alignment, and lead execution across sourcing, negotiations, contract implementation, contract adherence, and performance against targets.
  • Manage medium- to high-complexity spend, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize cost savings, capabilities, cash flow, schedule requirements, and total cost of ownership.
  • Evaluate new suppliers using total cost of ownership, risk, capabilities, and long-term value criteria.
  • Use approved digital, data, analytics, and GenAI-enabled tools to strengthen supplier insights, contract intelligence, spend analysis, RFx preparation, and category strategy outcomes.
Supplier Relationship Management and Governance
  • Manage procurement activities and relationships across preferred suppliers to support short- and long-term project success, measured by financial performance, quality, service, and compliance.
  • Engage directly with supplier leadership to align on J&J objectives, including quality, reliability, innovation, service, and cost.
  • Lead supplier relationship management for key suppliers, including data review, performance management, supplier development, end-to-end value improvement, and innovation delivery.
  • Escalate and resolve issues that may impact Procurement or team members in a timely, thoughtful, and Credo-based manner.
Execution, Savings and Operating Model Delivery
  • Deliver business plan commitments for MRO, including savings, cost management, cash flow, supplier management, and measurable value impact.
  • Apply the CCFS Procurement operating model effectively, partnering with Service Delivery sourcing, category peers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver sourcing and contracting outcomes.
  • Drive disciplined project execution through transparent scorecards, milestone tracking, leadership updates, and issue and risk mitigation for major category initiatives.

Preferred:
  • MBA or similar graduate degree.
  • At least 2 years of procurement experience in MRO or CCFS categories.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical technology industries, with knowledge of manufacturing and/or operations.
  • Experience working across geographies and managing supplier relationships that span category teams, business units, and sectors.
  • Experience using data, analytics, market intelligence, and approved digital or GenAI-enabled tools to support sourcing, negotiation, contract review, spend analysis, supplier segmentation, or category strategy.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and applying strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across functions and geographies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices, and has experience generating effective prompts to boost efficiency and productivity.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€70’100.00 - €121’210.00
