Job Description
Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

Cork Arts Theatre is a busy 100‑seat venue in Cork city centre. We are looking for someone to join our team as a caretaker / maintenance person. Primary duties would include general repairs and maintenance such as painting, light carpentry and other tasks to help keep the venue looking its best.

  • Arranging for various tradespeople to come when required for any electrical, plumbing work, etc. needed.
  • Opening and closing of the venue if required.
  • Accepting deliveries of bar stock.
  • Assisting with movement of stage set, props and equipment when required.
  • Ensuring that all equipment and tools associated with caretaking are maintained.
  • Waste management – monitoring collections of bins, etc.
  • Maintaining resources and equipment throughout the centre, reporting broken items to management.
  • Ensuring all paperwork associated with the position is completed daily.

The ideal person is someone who is genuinely interested in working part time as part of a small friendly and committed team at the venue.
