Job summary

A local community organization in Ballylooby is looking for a Caretaker to manage the upkeep of community hall facilities. Responsibilities

  • Set up and pack down each room according to bookings diary.
  • Set up of chairs, tables and daily cleaning and upkeep of the building.
  • Put out bins in preparation for pick-up.
  • Manage litter control and remove debris from paths and flowerbeds.
  • Perform general maintenance and minor repair work.
  • Conduct appropriate painting and redecoration.
  • Assume general porter duties and moving furniture.
  • Store equipment and supplies safely.
  • Provide flexibility of working hours when required.
  • Frequent deep cleaning of rooms.
  • Complete relevant training courses provided.

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

  • Manage litter control and remove all debris from paths, grassed areas, flowerbeds and all entrances/exits.
  • Perform general maintenance and minor repair work including doors, windows, toilet seats and flushes, furniture, tap washers and some painting of doors and walls.
  • Appropriate painting and redecoration.
  • General porter duties and moving furniture.
  • Store equipment and supplies safely.
  • Provide flexibility of working hours when required.
  • Frequent deep cleaning of rooms.
  • Complete relevant training courses provided.
