Job Description

Job summary: To provide person‑centred, holistic care to the Loreto Community in a kind, caring, clean and positive environment. The Loreto community is a community of retired Loreto sisters, some of whom require assistance to fulfil their activities of daily living.

Main Responsibilities: To provide person‑centred holistic care to the Balbriggan Loreto Community sisters. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, nutrition, continence care, social and spiritual care and other Activities of Daily Living as required on an individual basis. To adhere to our in‑house policies, such as safeguarding, infection control, manual handling, health and safety etc. To maintain Community Members dignity and respect at all times and to encourage and promote individual rights and independence. To assist in the preparation and serving of the tea meal each evening. This can be a simple meal such as cold meat and sandwiches or whatever you may be comfortable preparing for the community. To observe and monitor the wellbeing of the Loreto Sisters when on duty and report any concerns/illness to the Manager/Community Leader. To ensure all areas are kept clean, neat and tidy at all times. To maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance and punctuality. To pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role. To adhere to any other duties as may be requested by Senior Management and deemed reasonable to the position held. This is a permanent, part‑time position, working two 12‑hour night shifts, every second week. There will also be availability to cover for annual and sick leave, over both day and night shifts. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
