Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

To register your interest you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support service users with personal care as required.
  • Assist with mobility, safe transfers, and general supervision.
  • Serve meals, support with feeding where needed, and maintain a welcoming dining environment.
  • Facilitate activities, social engagement, and meaningful daily interactions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful care environment at all times.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and safeguarding standards.
Desirable Skills & Attributes
  • Previous experience working in a care, support, or community-based setting desirable but not essential.
