Job summary

Corlann, Limerick, invites applications for Care Assistant roles across our services. Permanent and relief contracts are available, with day and night shifts in Limerick City, Doon and Foynes.

Joining Corlann means helping to support people with intellectual disabilities to live valued, ordinary lives in their local community, with training, pension, progression opportunities and a supportive team. Applicants must have a minimum QQI Level 5 qualification and a full manual driving license;

Qualifications

• Minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in an appropriate or relevant field.
• Full manual driving license which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including meals, hygiene and related aspects of physical well-being.
• Assist and support People Supported by the Services with development on Individual Plans and outcomes.
• Support People Supported by the Services in community participation and integration.

The role of a Care Assistant

Care Assistants provide a key-working caring role for a group of People Supported by the Services. This role comprises two main elements. Firstly the Care Assistant is responsible for all aspects of personal care required during the day. This includes meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being. Secondly, a major focus of the Care Assistant role is to assist and support People Supported by the Services with development on Individual Plan's and achievement of associated outcomes. In addition, a critical component of this role is to support People Supported by the Services in community participation and integration

All applicants are required to :

• Have a minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in an appropriate or relevant field
• Hold a full manual driving license which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads
