Corlann, Limerick, invites applications for Care Assistant positions across our services in Limerick City, Doon and Foynes. Permanent and relief contracts are available, with both day and night shifts.

Panels may be formed for current and future vacancies of full or part-time duration. We look for bright, ambitious individuals who value supporting people with intellectual disabilities to lead normal and enjoyable lives.

Qualifications

• Have a minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in an appropriate or relevant field.
• Hold a full manual driving license which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads.

Responsibilities

• Care Assistants provide a key-working caring role for a group of People Supported by the Services. This includes personal care during the day, meals, hygiene and well-being.
• Support People Supported by the Services with development on Individual Plans and outcomes, and assist in community participation and integration.

The role of a Care Assistant

Care Assistants provide a key-working caring role for a group of People Supported by the Services. This role comprises two main elements. Firstly the Care Assistant is responsible for all aspects of personal care required during the day. This includes meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being. Secondly, a major focus of the Care Assistant role is to assist and support People Supported by the Services with development on Individual Plan's and achievement of associated outcomes. In addition, a critical component of this role is to support People Supported by the Services in community participation and integration
