St. Vincent's University Hospital invites applications for a Candidate Clinical Nurse Specialist/Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Tissue Viability Department.

The post focuses on pressure area care and wound management, delivering expert nursing care and education to patients and staff. The TVN role reports to the cANP/ANP TV and serves as a tissue viability resource to hospital and community teams, including health centres and nursing homes.

Responsibilities

• Purpose of the Post: The role of the Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist (TVN) was first established in 2002 to provide a resource for hospital staff in relation to pressure area care and wound management.
• Background to the Post: The role of the TVN is to deliver specialist individual nursing expertise, education and a management consultation service to patients, their relatives, and members of the multidisciplinary team in all areas of the specialty with a special focus on pressure area care within the hospital.
• This role involves working closely with and reporting to the Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Nurse Practitioner Tissue Viability (cANP/ANP TV). The post holder will also act as a resource in tissue viability to medical personnel working in community settings e.g. health centres, nursing homes.
• The post holder will be expected to contribute top nurse led quality initiative such as "Pressure Ulcer to Zero" which meets national, regional, and local standards within the specialty.
