Job summary

A leading global healthcare organisation is seeking a Buyer / Planner to join its team in Sligo. The role involves managing MPS and MRP processes, overseeing purchasing functions, and supporting new product introductions. Ideal candidates should have a relevant qualification and at least 2 years of experience in production planning. This position offers long-term career growth in a stable environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with short shelf‑life products is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage MPS and MRP processes for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
  • Oversee the Purchasing function to ensure material availability in line with production schedules.
  • Support NPI activities and coordinate purchasing for new product introductions.
  • Maintain BOM and Item Master data.
  • Act as CRM and primary point of contact for the distribution centre.
  • Lead Inventory Management and Control, including the cycle count process.
  • Coordinate purchased materials and non-inventory items to support production.

About You
  • Qualification in a relevant discipline (Certificate/Diploma/Degree), or purchasing/supply chain credentials such as IPICS, IIPMM, APICS
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment; experience with short shelf‑life products is an advantage
  • Strong problem‑solving ability across scheduling, logistics, expediting, and purchasing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
