The role involves leading symptomatic and screening breast services, performing image-guided biopsies, and reporting breast MRI while actively contributing to MDTs and governance initiatives. Qualifications

• Full registration in the Medical Council of Ireland in Radiology.
• Specialist Training in Breast Imaging/Interventions (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated competence in image-guided breast procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead symptomatic and screening breast services with DBT and ultrasound.
• Perform core needle and vacuum-assisted biopsies and lesion localisations.
• Report breast MRI and support MRI-guided pathways.
• Chair and contribute to weekly Breast Cancer MDTs.
• Ensure clinicopathological concordance in image-guided biopsies.
• Contribute to general radiology services and on-call roster.
• Uphold NCCP, HIQA, and BreastCheck QA guidelines.
• Provide supervision and teaching to registrars, radiographers, and nurses.
• Support clinical trials and quality improvement initiatives.
