Job Description

At Behaviour Detectives, we focus on keeping families together and helping everyone reach their potential – not only for our clients but for our staff as well. We are recruiting a Behaviour Analyst to support individuals with complex needs across the lifespan. The role involves providing direct intervention to promote communication, social, adaptive, and academic skills, as well as implementing leisure, health, and community programmes that enhance quality of life and social inclusion. Candidates should have experience supporting individuals with complex presentations and disabilities, confidence in managing behaviours of concern, and the ability to design and deliver individualised, evidence-based interventions. A neuro-affirmative ethos underpins all aspects of our work.

Contract Type: Full-time (permanent), Monday to Friday

Essential requirements: Hold a degree in Psychology/ Social Care/ Nursing or related area. Post-Graduate Qualification in Applied Behaviour Analysis

Desirable: Professional certification in Behaviour Analysis (e.g., BCBA, PSI, ISBA, or equivalent)

All candidates should have experience in: Supporting autistic and ADHD individuals, as well as those with varying levels of intellectual disability, OCD traits, mental health needs, or complex presentations. At least two years’ relevant experience (ideally beyond the age of twelve), including managing behaviours of concern. Conducting functional behaviour assessments to identify target behaviours, determine underlying functions, and develop tailored intervention strategies to support each individual’s needs. Developing and implementing individualised behaviour support plans using evidence-based principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support. Working in family homes, day services, and community settings delivering direct 1:1 intervention. Confidently able to lone work and work remotely, demonstrating independence and initiative. Setting up and maintaining data collection systems, and collecting, graphing, and interpreting behavioural data. Possessing excellent report-writing, verbal, and written communication skills. Willingness to travel and work flexibly due to the geographic spread of services.
