Job summary

The Vet Office in South Kerry, Ireland is seeking a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join an established veterinary practice. You will work across a predominantly large animal caseload with some small animal work, with opportunities for permanent, part-time, or short-term contracts.

You will handle beef cattle medicine and surgery, contribute to general farm animal veterinary care, and participate in an out-of-hours rota. The practice offers flexibility in on-call arrangements and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• At least 12–18 months mixed practice experience.
• Confidence in beef cattle clinical work and surgery is essential.
• Ability to manage farm animal emergencies independently during out-of-hours shifts.
• Basic small animal clinical and surgical skills are an advantage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A practical, adaptable approach to rural practice.

Responsibilities

• Beef cattle medicine and surgery, including clinical cases and emergency procedures.
