Job summary

Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic seeks a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Bariatric Surgery to lead specialist nursing care for bariatric patients in a private hospital setting. The CNS will coordinate pre- and post-operative care, collaborate with MDTs, and drive education for patients and staff.

The role requires extensive bariatric nursing experience, leadership ability, and a commitment to evidence-based practice within the NCNM framework.

Qualifications

• Be registered with the NMBI as a general nurse.
• Minimum five years post-registration nursing experience in an acute setting; two years in bariatric obesity or related surgical nursing.
• Possess QQI Level 8 or higher or willing to complete within two years.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist nursing services for bariatric surgery patients across pre-, peri-, and post-operative care.
• Coordinate pre-operative assessments, investigations and follow-up with the MDT.
• Lead education and training for patients, families and staff and participate in quality improvement.
• Collaborate with Consultants, GPs and MDT colleagues to ensure seamless patient care.
