Job summary

Uniphar Group, Point of Care division, is seeking an experienced registered nurse for an on-the-road bank role in Athlone and surrounding regions. You will travel to patient locations across the Midlands, delivering high-quality care in home or community settings.

The role requires active nursing registration, 2–3 years’ post‑registration experience, cannulation and phlebotomy skills, and a full driving licence with access to a car.

Qualifications

• Active An Bord Altranais nursing registration.
• 2-3 years post-registration experience in acute or community settings.
• Full clean driver’s licence and access to own car (essential).
• Willingness to travel across assigned regions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Cannulation & phlebotomy – essential.
• Administer and educate subcutaneous therapies.
• IV administration therapies in home or community settings.
• Maintain full compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Complete electronic nursing records accurately and timely.
• Report adverse events, product complaints and clinical incidents as per policy.
• Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Travel to patient locations as required.

Job description

Location: Athlone

Region: Midlands

County: Westmeath (although Athlone also extends into Roscommon)

This is an on-the-road role, travelling to assigned patient locations across the designated region.

This is a bank (relief) position with a competitive hourly rate/Pay scale, working on a flexible basis depending on business needs. Shifts are available Monday to Sunday between 7:30am and 9:30pm.

The Role

With a genuine passion for improving patient care, you will be an enthusiastic and experienced registered nurse. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently while remaining part of a wider integrated team.

In this flexible bank role, you will support service delivery by covering patient care needs across multiple locations. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality care, delivering treatments in home or community settings, and contributing to a seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Cannulation & Phlebotomy – essential
