Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a platform engineer to design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines for microservices running on Azure. You will standardise deployment patterns for containerised workloads and build Azure infrastructure using IaC with peer-reviewed changes.

You will automate and improve reliability, observability, and security across environments, while driving cost visibility and scalable, event-driven automation.

Qualifications

• Strong experience operating production workloads on Azure in cloud-native environments.
• Proven CI/CD design and implementation experience (Azure DevOps or equivalent tooling).
• Infrastructure as Code expertise (ARM, Bicep, or similar), with disciplined Git-based workflows and peer-reviewed changes.
• Experience with containers (Docker) and Kubernetes concepts.
• Hands-on observability using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or OpenTelemetry.
• Solid reliability engineering practices and structured incident response.
• Networking fundamentals including TLS and private networking.
• Experience with Azure Key Vault and IAM controls.
• PowerShell, Bash; Python desirable for automation.
• Comfortable in event-driven environments (Azure Service Bus).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evolve CI/CD pipelines for microservices with automated testing and safe rollbacks.
• Standardise deployment patterns for containerised workloads with versioned environments.
• Build and maintain Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code with peer-reviewed changes.
• Reduce manual intervention through automation and engineering improvements.
• Improve scaling, failover, and resilience patterns across services.
• Support SLO definition and structured incident responses for systemic improvements.
• Strengthen observability with logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
• Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines, including automated scans.
• Enhance secrets management and certificate lifecycle automation.
• Increase cost visibility across Azure environments via right-sizing and lifecycle mgmt.
• Automate operational workflows in event-driven and distributed environments.
