Job summary

SimoTech is seeking an experienced Aveva PI Engineer to support and enhance data infrastructure for our client in Dublin. This role focuses on configuring, integrating, and maintaining the Aveva PI system to deliver real-time data solutions that optimize manufacturing performance and enable data-driven decision-making.

You will work with automation, IT and process teams to deliver sustainable solutions, integrate PI with PLC/SCADA, and develop dashboards and reports to monitor and improve

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on Aveva/OSIsoft PI experience in pharma or industrial ops.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Information Systems.
• Strong knowledge of PI Data Archive, PI AF, PI Vision and system integration.
• Familiarity with OPC/Modbus and automation systems (PLC/SCADA/DCS).
• Windows Server administration and networking basics.
• Scripting in PowerShell, SQL, Python for automation and reporting.
• Awareness of cybersecurity practices for industrial data.
• Exposure to regulated life sciences or biopharma environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop AF templates, calculations, and event frames to represent equipment and processes.
• Integrate PI with PLC/SCADA platforms and other data sources using PI Interfaces and Connectors.
• Create custom PI Vision dashboards and analytical reports for process monitoring and optimization.
• Troubleshoot system issues to ensure reliability and data integrity.
• Collaborate with automation, IT, and process teams to deliver sustainable PI solutions and upgrades.

This role focuses on configuring, integrating, and maintaining the Aveva PI system to deliver real-time data solutions that optimize manufacturing performance and enable data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Aveva PI components including PI Data Archive, Asset Framework (AF), and PI Vision.
• Develop AF templates, calculations, and event frames to accurately represent equipment and processes.
• Integrate PI with PLC/SCADA platforms and other data sources using PI Interfaces and Connectors.
• Create custom PI Vision dashboards and analytical reports for process monitoring and optimization.
• Troubleshoot system issues to ensure reliability and data integrity.
• Work closely with automation, IT, and process teams to deliver sustainable solutions and upgrades.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ hands‑on experience with Aveva / OSIsoft PI Systems in Pharmaceutical manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of PI Data Archive, PI AF, PI Vision, and system integration.

• Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, SQL, Python) for system automation and reporting.

• Exposure to regulated environments such as life sciences or biopharma manufacturing.
