Job summary

NHS Highland Endoscopy Service is seeking an Extended Scope Practitioner in Lower GI Endoscopy to join the team based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. The successful candidate will work at an advanced practice level, delivering independent lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, including colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy, as part of a high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic service.

Qualifications

• Advanced clinical decision-making in lower GI endoscopy.
• Independent practice including colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
• Autonomous practitioner with responsibility for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver independent lower GI endoscopy as part of the NHS Highland Endoscopy Service.
• Autonomously assess, investigate, diagnose, treat and review patients referred from primary care and other pathways.
• Contribute to bowel screening colonoscopy, cancer tracking, surveillance programmes and colorectal follow-up.
