Job summary

PE Global (UK) is recruiting an Automotive Test Engineer for an electronics manufacturing client in Limerick, Ireland. This is an initial 6-month contract, fully onsite, focusing on Automotive BMS / Wireless BMS. Candidates should have a BSC or BENG in Electronic or Computer Engineering and experience with Systems Engineering, C/C++, and Python. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential, along with familiarity with tools such as IAR and Git. The client cannot assist with visa sponsorship; candidates must have the proper work visa.

Qualifications

  • Minimum BSC or BENG in Electronic or Computer Engineering; MSEE or MSCE.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering and/or formal testing of complex automotive systems.
  • Experience with automated silicon verification and development of functionally safe products is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the systems test effort of key programs.
  • Define long-term test roadmap for capabilities and flows.
  • Plan to test the system in edge cases.

Job description

PE Global is recruiting for an Automotive Test Engineer for our electronics manufacturing client in Limerick. This is an initial 6-month contract, fully onsite role.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Automotive BMS / Wireless BMS are very complex solutions, designed and engineered by >100 engineers to an ASPICE model. Verification of those solutions is as critical as the design. It requires excellent system understanding, system verification thinking and close teamwork with Hardware + Software design, System Applications, System Architecture and Quality teams.

  • The Systems Test engineer is responsible for driving the systems test effort of our key programs and will work with the system architect(s) and designers to understand the requirements, specifications, and implementations to prepare and execute suitable validation plans.
  • Define a long-term test roadmap of capabilities, flows and methodologies to continuously improve productivity.
  • Creatively plan to test the system in corner cases where potential marginalities and issues could arise above and beyond the given specifications.

Consult on required hardware system boards and software to automate the test cases to achieve best coverage and the highest efficiency.

Minimum qualifications:

Minimum BSC or BENG in Electronic or Computer Engineering; MSEE or MSCE.

Experience and Skills:
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering and/or formal testing of complex (ideally automotive) systems.
  • Experience with AUTOSAR-based developments advantageous.
  • C/C++ (embedded) and Python or other programming/scripting languages.
  • Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Software Compiler/debug tools, for example IAR/Keil/Segger.
  • Experience with software revision control, repositories, and regression testing (for example Git, Bitbucket, SVN).
  • Knowledge in analog and mixed-signal board design and layout.
  • Comfortable with Spectrum/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and other hardware debug tools.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
  • Clear communicator with excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.
  • Motivated, proactive, fast learner and hands‑on.
Nice to have:
  • Hands‑on experience in automated silicon verification.
  • Background in automated Software and System Verification.
  • Experience in wireless networking or RF.
  • Experience in the development or verification of functionally safe products.
  • Experience of requirements management (JAMA, DOORs etc.).
  • Background in Functional Safety.
  • Background in Cybersecurity.
  • Experience with ARM-based microcontrollers (Cortex‑Mx or Cortex‑Rx series).
