Job summary

A global biopharmaceutical company in Cork is seeking an Automation Manufacturing Engineer to oversee Automation OT systems in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a 3rd level degree in relevant engineering fields and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role within Life Sciences. The position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team and engage in continuous process improvement and project management.

Qualifications

  • 5 years' experience in a similar role in Life Sciences or other regulated manufacturing.
  • Experience on large-scale projects in Life Sciences.
  • Experience in generating, reviewing and approving lifecycle documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support all Automation OT Processes in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
  • Implement and maintain manufacturing Automation OT systems.
  • Manage Automation projects throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills

Experience working on PLCs (Siemens)
Experience working on SCADA (iFix, WinCC)
Strong relationship building skills

Education

3rd level degree in Mechatronics, Electronics or Automation

Job Description

We are now recruiting an Automation Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team in Carrigtwohill, Cork. This is an exciting time to join this Engineering team as the site is undergoing expansion to add new technology and sterile cleanroom facilities. Working with your counterparts in Production, QA, and Engineering departments and your team, you will be responsible for all manufacturing Automation OT systems/processes in use.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Administer and support all Automation OT Processes in our Pharmaceutical Manufacturing environment.
  • Implement, qualify, commission and maintain manufacturing Automation OT systems (Siemens PLC, SCADA etc.) and associated infrastructure to deliver operational efficiency and agility.
  • Identify, evaluate and implement opportunities for continuous Automation process improvement.
  • Define requirements on capital projects and interact with internal & external stakeholders, vendors and contractors.
  • Manage Automation projects throughout the project lifecycle
  • Work with Production/Engineering and Quality to troubleshoot and optimise automation systems.
  • Generate & Maintain documentation (SOP's & Technical Documentation) for full cGMP validation and operation, including documentation of changes made.
  • Maintain Data Integrity Program, including remediation of legacy systems to ensure robust procedure and systems are in place covering data integrity, security and recovery
  • Actively Contribute to the Automation Business Strategy
Qualifications
  • 3rd level degree in Mechatronics, Electronics or Automation
  • 5 years' experience in a similar role in a Life Sciences environment (preferably pharma/medical device) or other regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience working on PLCs (Siemens), SCADA (iFix, WinCC), Control Architecture and process equipment
  • Experience working on large-scale projects in Life Sciences generating, reviewing and approving lifecycle documentation
  • Strong relationship building skills
