Job summary

AstraZeneca / Alexion in Dublin seeks an experienced leader to manage a complex external manufacturing network across CMOs, delivering biologics therapies with compliant, reliable supply. You will shape network strategy, oversee regulatory readiness and inspections, and collaborate with internal partners to optimize yield, costs, and inventory while maintaining patient access.

The role requires 5+ years in biologics manufacturing, deep cGMP knowledge, and experience with tech transfers and S&OP.

Qualifications

• 5+ years providing operational/technical support to biologics manufacturing.
• Extensive knowledge of drug substance platforms (mammalian cell culture, microbial fermentation, etc.).
• Strong understanding of cGMP for clinical and commercial manufacturing.
• Ability to present and defend manufacturing aspects during regulatory inspections.
• Experience with technology transfers and scale-up of processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct cross-functional governance with CMOs to meet supply, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Provide operational/technical expertise across drug substance and drug product manufacturing at CMOs; lead investigations.
• Drive governance with Local and Global Steering Committees to align priorities and trade-offs.
• Identify and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, yield, quality, and capacity across the network.
• Co-develop strategies to improve end-to-end supply and manage inventory across the value chain.
