Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Client Onboarding specialist to support new client onboardings within the data conversion workstream. You will liaise with the Client Implementation group, participate in meetings, and coordinate system configuration and testing.

The role requires independent work, collaboration, and strong communication. Familiarity with institutional investment operations and accounting concepts is desired, with CFA/CIPM/CAIA being a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in financial services
  • Project-based working experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting teams on complex initiatives
  • Solid experience with written and oral communication
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Pursuit of CFA, CIPM or CAIA qualifications
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, professional environment emphasizing teamwork and detail

Responsibilities

  • Provide support within the data conversion workstream of new client onboardings
  • Liaise with team members and the broader Client Implementation group on issues, best practices and planning
  • Participate in regular internal meetings providing status reporting and issue resolution
  • Coordinate and perform system configuration and testing as needed
  • Assist in identifying bespoke client requests and work with internal partners to address
  • Work with across the organization to ensure onboarding readiness
  • Develop implementation methodology standards, procedures, and templates
  • Collaborate with teams to keep onboarding processes up to date and effective
  • Ensure escalations are identified and communicated to management

Client Onboarding Responsibilities
  • Provide support within the data conversion workstream of new client onboardings.

  • Coordinate and perform system configuration and testing as needed
  • Assist in identifying and understanding bespoke client requests and requirements and work with internal business and IT partners to address
  • Work closely with teams across the organization to ensure operational readiness
  • Assist in developing implementation methodology standards, procedures and templates
  • On an ongoing basis, collaborate with teams across the business to ensure onboarding process is up to date and effective
  • Ensure all escalations are identified and communicated to management appropriately
Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding of investment operational processes, including transactional impacts, cash movements, and accruals
  • Understanding of accounting / reporting methods, including IBOR, ABOR, and True NAV to support complete and accurate data capture
  • Knowledge of performance measurement concepts. Understanding of performance benchmarks and their use
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 years of relevant / applicable experience in the financial services industry
  • Project-based working experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting teams on complex initiatives
  • Solid experience with the full range of communication skills – written and oral
  • B.A. or B.S. degree.
  • Qualification in, or desire to pursue, CFA, CIPM or CAIA qualification
