Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking an Associate Auditor to perform and document routine audit examinations across functions, reporting to an Audit Team Lead. You'll develop test steps, document results, and evaluate control environments while contributing insights to improve efficiency.

The role requires a college/university degree with potential entry-level auditing experience in financial services; professional certifications (CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA) and/or an MBA are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of auditing in financial services with a grounding in basic accounting principles.
• Professional certifications (CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA) and/or an MBA preferred.
• Strong analytical and organisational abilities; capable of planning and executing audits.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents routine audit examinations across departments; develops test steps and evaluates results.
• Stays current on regulatory rules and industry changes; participates in special projects as assigned.
• Discusses audit results with business units and presents actionable recommendations.
• Assists in evaluating controls and the design of the control environment; supports audit methodology.
• Completes high-quality summaries of findings and recommendations for review.
