Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Associate Arboricultural Consultant to lead complex commissions and strengthen client relationships across national projects. You will combine senior technical delivery with commercial leadership and people development to expand the arboriculture and forestry offer.

You'll mentor colleagues, review technical approaches, and collaborate with authorities and internal teams to create value while driving best practice and continuous improvement across the practice.

Qualifications

• Substantial arboricultural consultancy experience with leading complex projects.
• Track record in major infrastructure, DCO/NSIP, EIA, or public sector frameworks.
• Strong technical review capability and clear communication of complex information.
• Commercial confidence in pricing, scope management and project controls.
• Experience mentoring others and identifying training needs.
• Ability to develop career pathways and support team development.

**What You'll Do**

• Direct complex arboricultural commissions, ensuring quality, budget, programme and client requirements are met.
• Develop and review technical approaches for BS5837, EIA, DCO/NSIP, veteran/ancient tree and construction-stage deliverables.
• Support people managers in developing career pathways, mentoring arrangements and technical training.
• Build relationships with clients, authorities, industry bodies and internal disciplines to generate work and create value.
• Drive best practice, QA consistency, knowledge management and continuous improvement across the team.
