I’m working with a leading professional services firm who are seeking a Financial Services Tax Assistant Manager to join a growing tax team. This role offers exposure to a broad portfolio across the financial services sector, including asset management, banking, structured finance, and insurance. You will work closely with senior leadership, gain direct client interaction, and support the delivery of high-quality tax advice. The position offers strong career progression, development opportunities, and involvement in varied and challenging projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support senior leaders in delivering commercial and timely tax advice to domestic and international clients
  • Manage tax projects and client portfolios to ensure excellent service delivery
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Contribute to tax compliance and advisory work across the FS portfolio
  • Conduct technical tax research to support client engagements and thought leadership
  • Identify opportunities to expand services with existing and prospective clients
  • Assist with management of billing and revenue targets
Requirements
  • Professional tax, legal, or accountancy qualification (e.g., CTA/ITI)
  • Strong academic background and proven corporate tax technical knowledge
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional tax environment; FS experience beneficial but not essential
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering high-quality service
  • Strong commercial mindset and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across teams and with clients
