Job summary

Uisce Éireann is seeking an experienced Asset Interventions Lead to manage end-to-end delivery of asset intervention projects within Asset Operations. You will coordinate with internal stakeholders, define requirements, manage tendering, and lead a team to deliver value safely, on time and within budget.

The role requires at least 5 years' relevant experience in water or utilities, strong leadership, and a track record of driving continuous improvement while upholding safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Relevant third level qualification and/or accreditation is desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and/or relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in leading teams to deliver customer-focused objectives that enhance service delivery.
• Experience working on intervention projects/ programmes and coordinating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of the Asset Operations portfolio of intervention projects and programmes from inception to construction completion.
• Engage with internal stakeholders (Asset Management, Operations Risk and Resilience, Infrastructure Delivery, Health and Safety, Regional Operations) for planning and delivery.
• Lead delivery of a portfolio of Asset Interventions projects from concept to completion.
• Define requirements/specifications for minor capital interventions on UE assets and assess cost/benefit and risk.
• Manage tendering processes and oversee contracts with contractors for interventions.
• Coordinate project management activities and oversight with Regional Operations and contractors.
• Identify, manage and mitigate project/program risks and contingencies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, HSQE, procurement, and financial regulations.
• Prepare and report project financials and monitor KPIs.
• Utilise Maximo and Oracle for works management.
• Carry out line and performance management duties and other duties as required by management.

The Role

The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure.

The Asset Operations function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered.

The Asset Interventions team are responsible for leading a team to deliver excellent service to their asset operations peers through the delivery of planned minor capital works. The Asset Interventions Lead will report to the Asset Operations Transformation Manager (in the interim) and an overview of duties are listed below.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the Asset Operations portfolio of intervention projects and programmes from inception to construction completion, and delivering associated outcomes to time, cost, quality and safety standards.
• Responsible for extensive level of engagement with key internal stakeholders such as: Asset Management, Operations Risk and Resilience, Infrastructure Delivery, Health and Safety, Regional Operations in the planning, prioritisation, and delivery of minor capital project delivery.
• Lead the delivery of a portfolio of Asset Interventions projects from concept to completion and returning the asset back into operation.
• Facilitate the process to assist stakeholders to define their requirements and specification for minor capital interventions on UE assets and defining cost and benefits/ risk reduction.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to define and manage the tendering process in the award of contracts to contractors for the delivery of the intervention.
• Project management on Asset Interventions works including the coordination with Regional Operations and management of contractors in the implementation of the agreed programme of activity.
• Managing the identification, management and mitigation of intervention project/ programme risks and opportunities, as well as the management of associated contingencies and mitigations.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements including permissions, licences, Health and Safety, procurement, and financial regulations.
• Support adherence to HSQE policies and the implementation of UE safety Management system for the Asset Interventions team.
• Responsible for the preparation and reporting of project financials which they have ownership.
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting KPIs for processes over which they have ownership.
• Responsible for Works management and use of Maximo and Oracle.
• Perform line and performance management duties as required.
• Carry out any other duties deemed necessary and / or required by management.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business including but not limited to:
  • COO – Asset Operations and Customer Operations,
  • Asset Management & Sustainability in particular Asset Planning,
  • Infrastructure Delivery Directorate,
  • Business Services – Supply Chain,
  • HSQE in particular the EHS team,
  • Corporate Affairs.
• Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
• Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
• Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting the behaviours that are expected from everyone in the team.
• Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation.
• Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
