Job description

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Job Description
Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

Arts Service Assistant (ASA) to support Limerick Arts Office and associated arts programmes in Limerick. The Umbrella Project supports arts organisations and individuals in Limerick City by providing support staff and facilities. The ASA will assist in the implementation of the arts programme and Culture and Creativity Strategy for Limerick including the Creative Ireland, Creative Communities programme.

S/he will provide administrative support to the Arts Office, provide advice and information to relevant individuals/organisations on issues relating to funding and opportunities in the arts, assist in the development and support of arts organisations. The ASA will be required to answer the telephone, deal with queries and take messages and any other duties as required.

Based in Limerick City the ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in arts administration, will have good communications skills, good organisational and interpersonal skills, and will be proficient in Microsoft Office. This position offers an enthusiastic candidate an opportunity to work on a number of creative initiatives and a hands‑on introduction to Limerick's arts and community networks. It also provides the successful candidate the opportunity to further their skills through accredited training.
