Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Architectural Technician in Ireland to support delivery of high-quality design packages for complex life sciences and advanced manufacturing facilities.

You will develop BIM models to LOD300, prepare planning drawings, and generate detailed CAD drawings across design development, tender, and construction stages, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliant architectural outputs.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Revit BIM and AutoCAD in a design/engineering consultancy.
  • Ability to produce coordinated LOD300 architectural models.
  • Experience creating planning packs and planning submissions.
  • Solid knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and guidance documents.
  • Ability to translate engineering inputs into clear architectural outputs.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain architectural BIM models to LOD300 with accuracy and coordination.
  • Prepare planning drawings, site layouts, elevations, sections, and statutory submission documents.
  • Produce detailed CAD drawings for design development, tender and construction stages.
  • Collaborate with structural, MEP, and process teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Apply Irish Building Regulations and relevant standards to outputs.
  • Assist in creating specifications, schedules, and technical reports.
  • Follow Jacobs' quality processes for accuracy and traceability across deliverables.

Job Overview

Jacobs’ Advanced Manufacturing team in Ireland is seeking an Architectural Technician with strong BIM/CAD capability to support the delivery of high‑quality design packages for complex life sciences and advanced manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain architectural BIM models to LOD300, ensuring accuracy, coordination, and alignment with project standards.
  • Prepare planning drawings, site layouts, elevations, sections, and supporting documentation for statutory submissions.
  • Produce detailed CAD drawings for design development, tender, and construction stages.
  • Collaborate closely with structural, mechanical, electrical, and process teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Apply knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and relevant international standards to ensure compliant architectural outputs.
  • Support the creation of specifications, schedules, and technical reports.
  • Follow Jacobs’ quality processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and traceability across all deliverables.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Proficiency in Revit BIM and AutoCAD within a design or engineering consultancy environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce coordinated LOD300 architectural models.
  • Experience preparing planning packs and statutory submission drawings.
  • Strong understanding of Irish Building Regulations and associated technical guidance documents.
  • Ability to interpret engineering inputs and translate them into clear architectural outputs.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to advanced manufacturing, life sciences, or pharmaceutical projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM execution plans, model coordination workflows, and clash detection.
  • Experience with Navisworks, Bluebeam, or similar collaboration tools.
