Job summary

AECOM in Dublin is seeking an Architect:Aviation to join our team. You will develop architectural concepts for airport facilities, coordinate multidisciplinary design and support construction documentation across terminals and related infrastructure.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, BIM proficiency, and strong communication skills. We offer hybrid work options and opportunities to influence high-impact infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture or equivalent
  • Professional registration with relevant architectural body or progress toward qualification
  • Typically 5+ years of architectural experience
  • Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, construction methods, materials and standards
  • Experience in multidisciplinary design teams
  • Proficiency in design and documentation software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of BIM processes and coordinated design
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality designs

Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural concepts, designs, and technical solutions for airport facilities and infrastructure
  • Prepare and review drawings, specifications, schedules, reports and other documentation
  • Coordinate architectural design with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, fire, security, baggage and other disciplines
  • Support planning and design of terminals, passenger facilities, airside and landside buildings and other airport infrastructure
  • Ensure designs comply with building regulations, aviation standards, accessibility, health and safety and client requirements
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, workshops, and project presentations
  • Coordinate with airport operators, authorities, airlines, contractors and consultants
  • Assist with design development, detailing, construction documentation and site activities
  • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings and technical proposals during construction
  • Identify design risks and coordination issues and contribute to solutions
  • Promote sustainable design principles and environmentally responsible infrastructure
  • Contribute to project programmes, budgets, QA and delivery
  • Mentor and support junior architectural team members

At AECOM , we are currently recruiting for an Architect:Aviation to join our Dublin office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop architectural concepts, designs, and technical solutions for airport facilities and associated infrastructure.
  • Prepare and review drawings, specifications, schedules, reports, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate architectural design with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, fire, security, baggage, and other specialist disciplines.
  • Support the planning and design of terminals, passenger facilities, airside and landside buildings, operational facilities, and other airport infrastructure.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, aviation standards, accessibility requirements, health and safety legislation, and client requirements.
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, workshops, stakeholder consultations, and project presentations.
  • Coordinate with airport operators, authorities, airlines, contractors, and specialist consultants where required.
  • Assist with design development, technical detailing, construction documentation, and site activities.
  • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and technical proposals during construction.
  • Identify design risks, interfaces, and coordination issues and contribute to effective solutions.
  • Promote sustainable design principles and support AECOM's commitment to resilient and environmentally responsible infrastructure.
  • Contribute to project programmes, budgets, quality assurance, and successful project delivery.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the architectural team.
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture.
  • Professional registration with the relevant architectural body, or demonstrable progress toward professional qualification.
  • Typically 5+ years of relevant architectural experience , preferably including aviation, transportation, infrastructure, or other complex building projects.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, construction methods, materials, and technical standards.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant design and documentation software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite , or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong understanding of BIM processes and coordinated design.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a complex project environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions.
