The Position

At Forvis Mazars, we support clients in the financial services industry to achieve their strategies and adapt to regulatory change, technological disruption, and evolving market expectations. We support and work with leading Fintechs, banking, insurance and asset management locally in Ireland and internationally.

Our team is growing and we wish to appoint an anti-money laundering (“AML”) subject matter expert to our regulatory risk consulting team.

The future team member will have a background in the following areas:

• Strong technical AML knowledge including a practical understanding of the Central Bank of Ireland’s (or an equivalent international regulator) expectations of regulated firms.
• At least five years’ experience of working within AML teams (professional services or within a regulated firm).

As an experienced member of the risk consulting team, you will have the opportunity to lead and support the delivery of a range of high-profile AML assignments in the following areas;

• AML regulatory change initiatives;
• AML investigations, mandated by the CBI and other international regulators; and
• AML assurance reviews (e.g. supporting the delivery of AML internal audits)

In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge in other regulatory areas, e.g. corporate governance, enterprise risk management, compliance risk management and conduct risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Management of the Forvis Mazars’ relationship with clients including high-quality service delivery and co-ordination of service offerings from other departments
• Growing your knowledge of regulatory and compliance obligations of our clients
• Leading of assignments with clients in the abovementioned areas
• Reporting into the senior leadership, working towards the achievement of departmental goals and targets
• Involvement as an ambassador in firm / department / practice development and marketing initiatives
• Managing and developing junior team members
• Support business development initiatives, through preparing assignment proposals, thought leadership articles and representing Forvis Mazars at conferences.

Ideal Candidate

• Qualification in a relevant industry qualification (e.g. Compliance Institute, ACAMs, ACA)
• Ideally, a minimum of five years’ experience within risk and compliance consulting in a Financial Services environment.
• Understanding of financial services sub-sectors, e.g. banking, funds, payments, insurance
• Knowledge of AML challenges and developments within the financial services industry
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience of operational supervision of assignments/projects and managing of client relationships
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
• Strong organisational and planning capabilities
• Ability to work on own initiative and to provide guidance to others
• Experience of working to deadlines
