Job Description
Senior AI Security Engineer

A growing cybersecurity practice is building out a specialist capability focused on securing AI and machine-learning platforms as they move into production environments. This role is heavily technical, sitting close to engineering teams and security operations rather than traditional governance-led consulting.

The work centres on identifying real-world weaknesses in AI systems, data pipelines, and supporting infrastructure, then designing practical controls to reduce risk.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of technical AI security assessments and remediation work, covering everything from model lifecycle risks to platform and data-layer security. The role combines deep technical analysis with hands‑on delivery, supporting clients through design, validation, and improvement of AI security controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical security assessments of AI and ML platforms in production and pre‑production
  • Assess risks across data ingestion, model training, inference, APIs, and deployment pipelines
  • Identify exposure to threats such as data poisoning, model extraction, prompt abuse, and leakage
  • Review cloud architecture, identity, network controls, and access paths supporting AI systems
  • Validate controls against recognised security and risk frameworks (NIST, ISO, AI RMF)
  • Work with engineering teams to embed security into MLOps and CI/CD workflows
  • Support secure design of AI workloads across cloud and hybrid environments
  • Produce clear technical findings, remediation guidance, and risk prioritisation
Skills & Experience
  • 4–7+ years in cybersecurity engineering, cloud security, or security consulting
  • Strong understanding of AI / ML system architecture and deployment patterns
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of application security, API security, and data protection principles
  • Familiarity with adversarial AI techniques and emerging AI threat models
  • Experience assessing or securing complex, high‑availability platforms
  • Comfortable working directly with engineers and platform owners
