Job summary

Bon Secours Hospital Dublin is recruiting a permanent Sonographer/Radiographer to join the Diagnostic Imaging Department. You will perform ultrasound examinations including abdominal, gynae, thyroid, testes, MSK and vascular scans, with rotation across General Radiography, DEXA and Interventional Radiology as needed.

Applicants should have BSc(Hons) in Radiography or equivalent, be CORU registered, and ideally hold a Masters in Medical General Ultrasound.

Qualifications

• Essential qualifications include BSc (Hons) in Radiography or Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent.
• Masters qualification in Medical General Ultrasound or equivalent.
• CORU registration and maintenance of such is essential.
• Desirable: Post graduate qualification in modality other than General Ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a range of Ultrasound Examinations as required in the Diagnostic Imaging Department; with opportunities to rotate in other modalities.
• Carry out high standard, best practise, clinical imaging and be professionally responsible for all aspects of own work.
• Maintain an effective and efficient high quality sonographic and radiographic service.
• Demonstrate flexibility in accordance with shift patterns and service needs.
• Participate in the on-call CT and General Radiography rota.
• Perform Intravenous cannulation if required.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with hospital policy and data protection.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to resolve patient-focused problems.
• Maintain communication with clinical and nonclinical colleagues for a high-quality service.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure effective patient management.
