Job description

Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely. We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary

We’re building for the next 100 years and as part of this growth, we are actively building out our finance function in Ireland to support Clions in EMEA. We are currently seeking an Accounting Operations Specialist to join our Finance team at our Dublin HQ. This role will focus primarily on Accounts Receivable for the EMEA region, while also supporting Accounts Payable during certain periods and contributing to finance project work as it arises. You’ll work closely with Clio’s North American Finance Operations team to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency across AR and AP processes. We are distributed by design, and the successful candidate will have the ability to work in a hybrid environment with 2 anchor days in office and 3 work from home days per week.

What Your Team Does

Our Finance team is hyper‑focused on becoming one of the most high‑performing teams in the world. That means we work hard, play for keeps, and dedicate ourselves to making sure #TeamMoney thrives as we scale. You will be joining a high‑performing and hard‑working team that values having fun at work. We always meet our deadlines, but we worship balance as well. Your position will be an integral part of the EMEA Finance team.

Who You Are

You’re a critical thinker who is self‑motivated, highly organised, and obsessed with continuous improvement. You’ve mastered self‑management and take pride in delivering accurate, timely work, whether working independently or as part of a team. You bring strong month‑end close discipline, with a solid grasp of deferred revenue, cut‑off management, and AR ageing. You’re comfortable moving between AR and AP work as the business needs shift, and you’re energised rather than thrown off by variety. You don’t wait to be asked, you proactively chase approvals, resolve exceptions, and keep things moving. Ambiguity doesn’t slow you down, you thrive in the pace and change that comes with a scaling SaaS business.

What You’ll Work On

As an Accounting Operations Specialist, you’ll be a key member of our high‑performing EMEA Finance team. Your primary focus will be managing invoicing, collections, and reconciliation activities across EMEA entities, while flexing into Accounts Payable support and project work as priorities require. You’ll help strengthen Clio’s cash management and revenue reporting foundation while contributing to scalable, compliant accounting operations under ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers).

Accounts Receivable (Primary Focus)
  • Own and maintain detailed schedules for all revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all customer communications, payment statuses, and account notes.
  • Manage the shared AR inbox, triaging and responding to both internal and external inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure timely collection and accurate invoicing for SaaS, Fixed Pricing Contracts, and Time & Materials projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing disputes or payment discrepancies quickly and effectively.
Accounts Payable Support
  • Provide AP coverage as required, including processing vendor invoices and expense reports, managing payment runs, and resolving vendor queries.
  • Maintain continuity of AP processes and ensure no disruption to vendor relationships or payment timelines during coverage periods.
Accounting Support
  • Support the month‑end close process for EMEA entities.
  • Reconcile AR/AP sub‑ledgers to the general ledger and ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and assist in preparing journal entries related to AR, deferred revenue, and bad debt reserves.
Project Work

Support finance projects as they arise, including systems implementations, process migrations, and cross‑functional initiatives. Bring an operations mindset to project work, helping the team scale processes as Clio grows.

Process Improvement

Identify and propose enhancements to AR and AP workflows, internal controls, and reporting accuracy. Support the documentation and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure scalability and audit readiness.

Analysis & Action

Prepare data‑driven financial reports and analysis focused on AR ageing and collections KPIs. Identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities to enhance cash flow and overall working capital management.

Stakeholder Communication

Serve as an on‑the‑ground point of contact for AR and AP activities within EMEA, ensuring professionalism and consistency in every interaction. Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and Vendors to address AR and AP related inquiries, including invoice status, credit requests, and payment applications.

Other Ad Hoc Duties

Support the wider finance team with ad‑hoc tasks and projects as needed. Things move quickly at Clio, we buy companies, implement new technology, and scale teams rapidly. We need your skills to help us do it all.

What You May Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Accounting/Finance related field.
  • 2+ years of experience across Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable, or Accounting Operations more broadly.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP, IFRS, and ASC 606 is preferred).
  • Ridiculous attention to detail.
  • The ability to wow people with your written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, global environment.
  • Strong work ethic, energetic, and a positive attitude.
  • An accounting credential (completed or in progress).
Serious Bonus Points If You Have
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in a SaaS/Technology multi‑entity environment.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite/Leapfin/Coupa).
  • Prior exposure to both AR and AP functions, or a demonstrated ability to pick up new finance processes quickly.
