Qualifications

• Less than 12 months of relevant experience (excluding placements).
• Masters degree obtained no earlier than 2025 or expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist design of primary plant systems and HV substations.
• Prepare and review HV plant specifications and related equipment.
• Provide electrical input throughout project lifecycle from feasibility to commissioning.
• Assist with calculations, drawings, and reports for safe, reliable substation design.
• Coordinate with clients, PMs and multidisciplinary teams across departments.

Job Description

Our Energy team delivers integrated engineering and project management services across the full project lifecycle, supporting renewable generation and transmission and distribution networks in Ireland and internationally.

We're looking for passionate Graduate Electrical Engineers to work alongside experienced engineers to design, analyse and assess medium- and high-voltage substations for major power generation and renewable energy projects. You will apply core electrical engineering principles to help develop solutions that are safe, reliable, practical and cost-effective.

This is an opportunity to build strong technical foundations, contribute to projects with lasting societal impact and learn within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where your ideas and development are valued. You will get involved in:

• Support the design of primary plant systems and layouts for medium- and high-voltage substations.
• Prepare and review technical specifications for HV plant and associated ancillary equipment.
• Provide electrical engineering input throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and front-end engineering through detailed design, construction monitoring and commissioning.
• Assist with technical assessments, calculations, drawings and reports to support safe, reliable and cost-effective substation design and delivery.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary colleagues across civil, structural, environmental, survey and geotechnical, transport, protection and control, and CAD/BIM teams.
• Contribute to innovative projects involving energy storage, HVDC systems, smart-grid solutions, waste-to-energy and other emerging technologies.
• Develop an understanding of relevant engineering standards, client requirements, health and safety considerations and quality processes.
• Take ownership of your learning, share ideas and support the successful delivery of projects.
