Job summary

PT. Prima Solid Energik is seeking an experienced Welding Engineer to oversee welding processes, procedures, and quality assurance on EPC, oil, gas, petrochemical, mining, or fabrication projects.

You will apply a range of welding methods, review WPS/PQR, and ensure compliance with ASME IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104, and project standards. The role requires a minimum degree in engineering, 3+ years in welding engineering, and strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum S1 degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering/Metallurgy, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience as Welding Engineer on EPC/Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Mining, or fabrication projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Understanding of HSE/K3 in welding work.
• Willing to be placed at site/project as required by the company.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply welding processes including SMAW, GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG, FCAW, and SAW.
• Understand WPS, PQR, WPQ/WQT, and qualification and approval processes.
• Understand welding standards and codes including ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104, and applicable project standards.
• Understand welding procedure, welding sequence, preheating, PWHT, consumable control, and heat treatment.
• Understand material and weldability including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel.
• Understand NDT processes including VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Construction, Engineering, Inspector, Contractor/Subcontractor, and related parties.

• Understand WPS, PQR, WPQ/WQT, and qualification and approval processes
• Understand welding standards and codes including ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104, and applicable project standards
• Understand welding procedure, welding sequence, preheating, PWHT, consumable control, and heat treatment
• Understand material and weldability including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel

• Conduct welding inspection, troubleshooting, and monitoring of welding work qualityReview WPS/PQR, welder qualification, welding documentation, inspection reports, and related technical documents
• Understand welding defects, root cause, and corrective actions
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Construction, Engineering, Inspector, Contractor/Subcontractor, and related parties

About you

• Minimum S1 degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering/Metallurgy, or related field
• Minimum 3 years experience as Welding Engineer, preferably on EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Mining, or fabrication projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Understanding and application of HSE/K3 in welding work
• AWS/CSWIP/IWE certification or Welding Inspector certification is a plus
• English language capability to read standards, specifications, and technical documents is a plus
• Willing to be placed at site/project as required by the company
