Job description

We are looking for a Vice President Legal to join our company in the agribusiness sector. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the companys legal, compliance, and governance strategy at both national and international levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic advisor to the Board of Directors and senior leadership on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and governance matters.
• Oversee the companys legal framework, ensuring compliance with Indonesian laws, international regulations, and industry-specific standards.
• Lead and manage all corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, capital markets activities, and financing arrangements.
• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts to safeguard company interests while enabling business growth.
• Establish, monitor, and continuously improve compliance programs, policies, and internal controls to mitigate legal and reputational risks.
• Manage and resolve disputes, litigation, and arbitration cases, engaging with external counsel as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, sustainability, and commercial) to provide business-oriented legal support.
• Represent the company in engagements with regulators, government authorities, and external stakeholders.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing legal team, fostering a culture of integrity and excellence.
• Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments that may impact the agribusiness industry and proactively recommend actions.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Law; Masters or international legal qualifications preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of progressive legal experience, with at least 9 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong expertise in corporate law, M&A, capital markets, governance, and compliance.
• Prior experience in agribusiness, plantation, FMCG, or natural resources is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead legal strategy in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
