A leading agribusiness company in Pontianak is seeking a Visiting Engineer to represent management and assess palm oil plantation operations. The Visiting Engineer (VE) represents the Management Board of the company and is tasked to visit plantations (Estate & Mill) where necessary. They provide an independent, unbiased and objective report on the current status of plantation management with respect to field conditions and agricultural standards, effectiveness of operating procedures—including safety practices and security control—nursery practices, crop/product potential, quality and cost control, as well as the general administrative management of the establishment.
Reports also contain analysis of variances against targets set for production and cost, verification of achievements against accounts and monthly reports, and highlight any shortcomings such as deviations from company policies or breaches of laws and regulations that could threaten environmental issues or social harmony. This safeguards the company’s image and reputation.
VE audits and reviews to ensure all operations conform to the company’s standard operating procedures (SOP). They promote and emphasize best practices in line with the Agriculture Policy and the criteria set by RSPO or ISPO to uphold sustainable palm oil principles.
VE acts as an advisor and coach, providing guidance to staff and supervisory workers. They transfer technical knowledge to improve plantation management capability and skills, and motivate training and learning processes.
