Job Description
  • Oversee underwriting activities for the engineering portfolio in line with company guidelines to ensure sustainable profitability.
  • Assess and evaluate engineering risks (CAR, EAR, MB, etc.) in accordance with underwriting standards and reinsurance requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales, distribution, and business partners to develop new business opportunities and strengthen market presence.
  • Conduct portfolio reviews, performance monitoring, and risk accumulation analyses using appropriate tools.
  • Participate in site surveys for major accounts and ensure accurate documentation of quotations, cover notes, and policy data.
  • Maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to support business growth and service quality.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to management on pipeline progress and portfolio performance.
The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Insurance, or related field.
  • Having Insurance qualification (e.g. AAMAI and/or ANZIFF) is a plus
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Engineering Underwriting within the general insurance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction, erection, and industrial risks.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop junior underwriters.
  • Proficiency in English both written and verbal.
