Job summary

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions in Balikpapan, Kalimantan Timur seeks an Underground Support Supervisor to coordinate underground technician activities and provide troubleshooting guidance, ensuring tool readiness and proper permits.

The role reports to the Service Manager, collaborates with LH/DRRI teams, and aims to improve equipment uptime. Required: 4+ years in mining equipment maintenance and English at CEFR B1 level.

Qualifications

• Over 4 years of maintenance experience in mining or heavy equipment underground.
• Proven ability to maintain and troubleshoot Sandvik or similar OEM equipment.
• Strong foundation in electric and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of CAN Bus system.
• Intermediate English proficiency (CEFR B1).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily underground field technician activities and allocate tasks.
• Provide troubleshooting guides to technicians and customers.
• Ensure critical parts availability and stock alignment with customer needs.
• Ensure technicians have proper tools and permissions.
• Prepare and verify work permits for technicians on duty.
• Collaborate with field service Balikpapan to ensure tools and equipment.
• Map technician needs and training requirements for future projects.
• Provide reports to Service Manager and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure work complies with Sandvik standards and location requirements.

Job Summary

Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for Underground Support Supervisor based in customer project / Balikpapan, Kalimantan Timur.

This position is responsible for support daily activity underground field technician for support Sandvik underground population in Indonesia, support in the form of being able to coordinate tasks for technicians based on skills and abilities, providing troubleshooting guides to Sandvik technicians, as well as to customer technicians when there is a problem with the Sandvik unit.

Conducting problem analysis on equipment and collecting data from Sandvik technicians and also from customers for continuous improvement programs. This position reports directly report to Service Manager.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for ensure communication and provide aftermarket support for each underground project assigned to him.

• Responsible for ensuring critical parts and stock recommendations on the sheet meet customer operational needs. This role requires communication and agreements involving the customer.

• Ensure each technician has the appropriate tools and equipment for their assigned tasks.

• Ensure paperwork and work permits are prepared for each technician on duty.

• Ensure all special tools are in good condition and available – colaboration with field service support Balikpapan.

• Map technician needs based on their respective specializations – prepare projective training need for technician base on future requirement.

• Provide reports and feedback to the L&H and DRRI Division through CRM Feedback.

• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Sandvik standards.

• Ensure all work carried out by the team is carried out properly, in accordance with Sandvik standards and the standards of the location where the team works.

• Able to adapt and continue to develop according to market and customer needs outside of current main responsibilities.

COLLABORATION WITH OTHER BUSINESS LINE

• As the matrix organization you will be collaborating with many people within Sandvik in both global and SEA regions, including Business Line Managers and factories in Tampere and Alachua.

• Report to Service Suptend – And Service Manager.

• Collaboration with the PSSR and TSSR team.

• Collaboration with the Parts team.

• Able to effectively communicate any issues and problems and their solutions.

PREFERRED ENVIRONMENT & MOBILITY

• Field - Any environment (Location Customer Sites / Workshops).

• Willing to travel globally within Sandvik area and/or from site to site within country of Indonesia.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Over 4 years of experience in maintenance, ideally in the mining or heavy equipment underground industry.

• Proven track record in maintaining and troubleshooting Sandvik or similar OEM mining equipment (e.g., loaders, drill rigs, underground trucks).

• Have a strong foundation in electric and hydraulic

• Have knowledge and understanding of the Can Bus system

• Have experience and understand the risks of working in Sandvik underground unit (L&H, DD, DS, DL -series)

• Intermediate English proficiency (CEFR Level B1).
