Job Title: UFS ID CD Capability Manager

Business context: Unilever Food Solutions (UFS) is the €3bn foodservice division of Unilever. It leads the dynamic Food Service market across its categories and has ambitious growth objectives, marketing a range of professional food and beverage products and services to operators across 22 Multi Country Organizations (MCOs) in 67 countries. We carry a portfolio of local and international brands—Bango, Royco, Knorr Professional, Hellmann’s and rest tea and beverage brands.

Main purpose of the job: The CD Capability Manager is responsible for building a future‑fit, competitive advantage for the Customer Development (CD) function by enhancing existing capabilities and driving business transformation through new capability building. This role is pivotal in deploying technology and data at scale to improve customer experience, enable digital transformation, and foster a high‑performance, agile organization. It also acts as a connector between business, technology, and HR, ensuring capability uplift is embedded in both day‑to‑day operations and long‑term strategy.

Reporting structure: This role will report to the UFS ID Business Development Lead and work closely with CD IT, CX team, and CD strategy and planning, with one direct report.

Main Accountabilities
  • Design and Operationalize Capability Building Roadmap
    • Identify skill gaps and design capability programs (training as one of the elements) for CD teams, distributor partners, and project teams.
    • Develop and implement a capability roadmap aligned with global and regional future‑fit capability canvas and best practices.
    • Build and maintain training materials, onboarding programs, and best practice sharing platforms.
    • Foster a learning culture and continuous improvement mindset within the CD organization.
  • Lead New Capability Development for Business Transformation
    • Lead the design and operationalization of scalable, end‑to‑end customer journey models.
    • Collaborate cross‑functionally to implement strategies leveraging data, automation, and personalization for measurable business value.
    • Drive innovation through experimentation, digital enablement, and agile HR practices.
    • Act as a change agent, championing transformation initiatives and embedding new ways of working.
  • Digital & Data‑Driven Enablement
    • Partner with IT and regional hubs (through CX team) to translate strategy into phased technology implementation.
    • Introduce digital tools and training to enhance sales productivity and data literacy.
    • Monitor and report on transformation KPIs, using dashboards to track progress and inform strategy iteration.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
    • Act as a bridge between commercial, technical, and operational teams.
    • Facilitate cross‑functional workshops, training, and best practice sharing.
    • Engage with regional and global counterparts to adapt and implement proven practices.
