Our fieldbase in Bali is the operational heart of our programs, a living, learning, and training environment for Program Leaders, interns, Atovans, volunteers, and senior staff.

The Tribe Quartermaster is essential to ensuring fieldbase runs smoothly, safely, and professionally. Your work directly supports our ability to deliver high-impact education and leadership programs across Indonesia.

Role Overview

The Tribe Quartermaster is responsible for the daily functioning, cleanliness, safety, and logistical readiness of ATOVA’s fieldbase. This is a hands-on, practical role ideal for someone disciplined, proactive, reliable, and service-minded.

You will also support Tribe Leadership (Tribe Leader & Senior Program Leader) with logistics, administration, translation, and operational tasks that ensure smooth program delivery and safe field operations. You will live on-site at the fieldbase throughout your contract.

Key Responsibilities

Fieldbase Operations & Housekeeping

  • Maintain a consistently clean, organised, and safe environment across:
  • bedrooms
  • communal areas
  • bathrooms
  • office spaces
  • outdoor areas & gardens
  • Carry out light repairs and maintenance (training provided).
  • Ensure fieldbase is guest-ready for inspections, visitors, and volunteers.

Meal Preparation (Monday–Thursday + events)

  • Prepare mid-day meals for staff Monday–Thursday.
  • Cook meals during weekend events or fieldbase activities as required.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
  • Note: Breakfast and dinner ingredients are provided — staff prepare their own meals.

Equipment & Logistics

  • Maintain ATOVA equipment (training gear, first aid supplies, tools, resources).
  • Support Program Leaders with logistics preparation before school visits and training sessions.
  • Manage inventory and notify Tribe Leadership when items need replacing.

Vehicles & Transport

  • Conduct regular checks on ATOVA motorbikes/vehicles (oil, tyres, brakes, lights).
  • Take vehicles for quarterly servicing.
  • Keep logs up-to-date and ensure safe use of all vehicles.

Operational Support

  • Provide translation for international volunteers during meetings, planning sessions, and community engagements.
  • Monitor the ATOVA emergency radio and respond to communications as required (training provided).
  • Support Tribe Leader and Senior Program Leader with administrative duties.
  • Occasionally drive (motorbike) to escort SPL to meetings or school visits around Bali.
Requirements

Essential

  • Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and discipline.
  • Basic cooking skills and willingness to follow ATOVA meal procedures.
  • Experience with cleaning, housekeeping, or maintenance.
  • Ability to ride a motorbike (SIM C preferred).
  • Good communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English preferred.
  • Comfortable living on-site at fieldbase full-time.
  • High integrity, trustworthiness, and a team-first attitude.

Desirable

  • Experience in logistics, hospitality, facility management, or similar roles.
  • Ability to perform light repairs or practical tasks.
  • Experience working in a multicultural team.
