About the Role

Based at Surabaya and reporting to the Technical Services Coordinator, the Toolmaker aims to ensure all maintenance activities for machines and facilities are well-planned, efficient, and timely. This role is crucial in minimizing downtime, optimizing resources, and maintaining asset reliability through systematic planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance operations.

This role is offered as a permanent opportunity.

Key responsibilities include:
Tooling design and modification

Create or modify designs for jigs, fixtures, dies, and other components according to production or project improvement needs.

Collaborate with project engineers to ensure tooling supports work efficiency and ergonomics.

Read and understand engineering drawings (2D/3D CAD).

Create 2D/3D engineering drawings for tooling and components.

Revise drawings based on input from engineers and toolmakers.

Digitally archive and manage tooling drawings.

Tooling analysis and improvement

Inspect damaged or worn tooling.

Conduct root cause analysis with reliability engineers.

Provide recommendations for repairs or redesigns.

Provide technical input for tooling design improvements.

Machine, fit, and assemble new tooling.

Use lathes, milling machines, and precision measuring tools.

Ensure tooling quality and dimensional accuracy.

Prepare tooling/machine designs, including creating 3D and 2D drawings, preparing BOMs, researching spare part data sources.

Repair and modify damaged or worn tooling.

About You

You bring a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering/ Manufacturing, complemented by hands‑on experience in a similar role. You have a proven ability in performing tooling repairs and regrinding, supported by experience in CNC machining.
