Overview
Asianfast Marine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Technical Support Engineer to join our production team. This role is pivotal in providing after-sales support, system troubleshooting, and technical assistance to our customers, particularly for marine propulsion, electrical, and control systems. The successful candidate will play a vital role in bridging engineering expertise with customer service excellence.
We are looking for a Marine Engineer Class I or II who has served as Chief Engineer on ocean-going vessels, with strong analytical skills and a hands‑on approach in solving technical challenges both onboard and remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide technical assistance and remote/on‑site troubleshooting for vessel propulsion, electrical, control systems, and related marine systems.
- Support vessel commissioning (new builds and repairs), system diagnostics, and configuration.
- Conduct system inspections and ensure operational performance in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Monitor, inspect, and test vessel performance and technical systems regularly.
- Customer & Client Support
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries via email, phone, or chat, providing clear and actionable guidance.
- Maintain close communication with customers and internal departments (e.g. Commercial, Supply Chain) to ensure effective issue resolution.
- Conduct technical training for clients' crew and technical staff onboard or offsite.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and long‑term trust.
- Prepare and maintain accurate technical reports, service logs, and knowledge base articles.
- Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the appropriate internal teams, including warranty, engineering, or SCM support.
- Assist in creating and updating technical manuals and procedures.
- Design and implement improvements to existing marine systems based on field data and customer feedback.
- Assist in the development and testing of new technologies or product features.
- Supervise and support engineering teams onboard when needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Marine Engineer Class I or II certification with proven experience as Chief Engineer on ocean‑going vessels.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in marine engineering, including hands‑on experience with diesel engines, propulsion systems, electrical/control systems.
- Strong technical understanding of marine equipment and systems, including automation and diagnostics tools.
- Proficiency with computer systems, technical software, and communication tools.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally as needed for onboard service or training assignments.
