Yayasan Hutan Tropis is seeking a Senior Sustainability Data Analyst to lead data-driven reporting across our global teams. You will manage large datasets, apply advanced Excel techniques including macros and VBA, and translate complex trends into actionable insights for decision-makers.
You will mentor analysts, ensure high-quality outputs, and drive on-time delivery while exploring automation to streamline reporting processes.
With most of our staff operating directly on the ground where the issues are, we work with our members and partners to make value chains an engine of prosperity for communities and ecosystems.
We see a world where forests are a boundless source of materials and a home for biodiversity; communities see their rights respected and have opportunities to develop; workers are seen as productive partners, and agriculture becomes the instrument to feed a hungry planet and keep our climate stable.
Yayasan Hutan Tropis was legally established in Indonesia in 2005 as a national non-profit organization (Yayasan). We are affiliated with the Earthworm Foundation as the implementing partner for activities in Indonesia. Our offices are based in Semarang and Jakarta, with a total of 73 staffs. Our operational areas include Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, and East Kalimantan.
As a Sustainability Data Analyst (SO), your primary responsibilities are to:
Provide guidance to other analysts in report delivery, insight generation and stakeholder engagement
Demonstrate leadership in ensuring that our output is of high quality and delivered on time.
Collect, clean and analyse information you receive from our clients to explain major trends and support the elaboration of recommendations guiding companies to transform their supply chains
Summarize data insights in the shape of reports to provide a compelling story on the impact of deforestation on our customers’ supply chains, related to various agricultural commodities (e.g. palm oil, soy, cocoa)
Collaborate with your colleagues in Malaysia, Indonesia, Ecuador, Ghana and Switzerland to complete the reports, and provide further data analysis as needed
Stay on the lookout for ways to improve our internal processes and how we work together.
In this role, you’ll manage large, complex data sets, ensuring their integrity and quality while creating clear and compelling reports. Your expertise in Excel, including advanced skills in macros and VBA or Python, will be essential in automating and optimizing our data processes. Plus, your experience with tools like PowerPoint and Tableau will help you craft impactful presentations that tell a story.
You’ll also be responsible for leading specific workstreams, ensuring operational efficiency and continuous improvements in our processes. Your strong attention to detail will be crucial as you oversee the quality of reports produced by other analysts, providing final approval before delivery. Additionally, you’ll collaborate closely with the team lead/manager to align on timelines, templates, and overall report management.
We value a collaborative mindset and seek someone who can work independently while integrating seamlessly with our diverse, multicultural team. Your strong communication skills and diplomatic approach will help you build strong relationships and navigate difficult conversations with ease.
If you’re a curious problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys mentoring teams, and is eager to contribute to our success, we’d love to have you on board. Let’s work together to create a more sustainable future!
