Sustainability Auditor – As a Sustainability Auditor, you will support and conduct sustainability-related audit and verification projects, ensuring organizations comply with ESG standards, sustainability regulations, and best practices. This role provides professional development opportunities, collaboration across industries, and regional exposure within sustainability and environmental management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and support sustainability and carbon verification projects for clients across various industries.
- Gather and analyze data related to environmental performance metrics, including carbon emissions, waste management, and resource utilization.
- Prepare comprehensive sustainability audit reports detailing findings, areas for improvement, and actionable recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability regulations, standards, and certifications (e.g., CORSIA, NEA Carbon Tax Verification, ISO 14064, ISO 14067, ISO 14068, GHG Protocol).
- Educate and train employees or clients on sustainability initiatives and environmental performance improvement.
- Support the development and enhancement of sustainability-related products and services within TÜV SÜD.
- Participate in periodic technical exchanges and internal training sessions to strengthen sustainability and GHG auditing expertise.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned projects in alignment with quality and operational standards.
- Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and health & safety in all work activities.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 0–3 years of experience in carbon or sustainability-related projects; prior experience in sustainability consulting or GHG verification (e.g., ISO 14064‑3, EU Emissions Trading System) is preferred.
- Experience or exposure to the petrochemical, chemical, or semiconductor industries is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sustainability data and environmental performance metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to interact confidently with clients at all organizational levels.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for audits or project assignments.
- Passion for sustainability and continuous improvement in environmental and social impact performance.
Preferred
- Familiarity with GHG Protocol, ISO 14064/14067/14068, and sustainability frameworks.
- Experience in sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, or ESG assessments.
- Certification or training in Sustainability or GHG Auditing would be an added advantage.
